Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg
a/k/a Andre Young and Calvin Broadus. Became close friends after Nate Dogg gave his half brother, Dre, a demo tape of Snoop freestyling. Dre's debut single, Deep Cover in Spring 1992, wasn't only a massive hit worldwide, but saw the debut appearance of Snoop. Dre's multi platinum album The Chronic also saw Snoop appear on Aint Nuttin' But A "G" Thang, Dre Day and Let Me Ride. Both rappers appear on each others albums throughout their careers, Dre producing mainly and Snoop dueting.

Death Row Records
Death Row Records was Dre's and Snoop's record label for a long time and were going strong untill the Spring of 1996. At this point Dre was tired of Death Row and Snoop was recovering from his draining murder case. 2-pac's label debut All Eyez On Me (wich featured Dre on the smash hit, Calafornia Love)was being promoted by all of Death Row. Dre quit the label in the Summer of '96 and started his own label, Aftermath, and declared Gangster rap was dead.

N.W.A
NIGGAZ WITH ATTITUDE. The most violent and sexist group of the Gangsta rap world, or the most notorious group in rap history. Started in the early 80's with members DR DRE, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren and DJ Yella. Had run ins with the FBI after their song F**k Tha Police had caused trouble. The FBI sent their label letters telling them to watch their step. After their split in the early 90's, every member of NWA made a solo album. Ice Cube, Dre and Eazy were in an over the top all out public feud while Yella and Ren's albums were ignored. Cube and Dre patched things up with Eazy before his death of AIDS in 1995.
